Employee Wellbeing

We place great importance on providing a healthy working environment and improving the quality of working lives for all our colleagues. So much so that we have a dedicated team working on our health and wellbeing provision to drive forward our wellbeing strategy.

Our wellbeing programme is designed to support five key areas of wellness: nutritional, physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing. ALDI works with a number of benefits partners to provide colleagues with access to additional supports across the five key areas of wellness. Our internal online portal, MyWellness, is available to all colleagues and serves as a one-stop resource for enhancing colleague well-being. MyWellness provides valuable resources to support overall well-being and offers a comprehensive collection of tools, videos, signposting and articles. The platform is designed to empower colleagues with the knowledge and skills they need to lead a healthier, happier and more balanced life.

Through our colleague app, MyALDI, we publish articles about health initiatives and remind our colleagues of the different benefits available to them. Our Employee Assistance Programme is widely promoted, and colleagues are actively encouraged to engage with it should they require support or wish to avail of its many advice services. We also run health and wellbeing courses for our leaders to enable them to support their teams more effectively.

We've been making significant efforts to encourage more open discussions around mental wellness, with a particular focus on fostering a supportive environment. To ensure that all leaders, at every level, are equipped to understand and promote well-being, they participate in a dedicated training course that enhances their ability to support colleagues on their mental wellness journey.

In addition, we've introduced Mental Health e-learning modules which are available to all colleagues across the organisation, providing essential knowledge and tools for mental health awareness. In 2022, we commenced our partnership with Aware to help guide us on our mental health journey, and we've recently joined forces with the Elephant in the Room movement to ensure the conversation around mental health remains active and meaningful.
