Employee Wellbeing
We recognise that our people are our greatest asset, which is why we place great importance on providing a healthy working environment and improving the quality of working lives for all colleagues. So much so that we have a dedicated team working on our health and wellbeing provision and driving forward our wellbeing strategy.
Our wellbeing programme is designed to support five key areas of wellness; nutritional, physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing. Aldi works with a number of benefits partners to provide colleagues with access to additional support across the five key areas of wellness. In August 2020 we launched MyWellness, an internal online wellbeing area available to all employees. MyWellness contains tools, videos and articles on a wide variety of wellness topics.
On our colleague app, MyALDI, we publish articles about health initiatives and remind our colleagues of the different benefits available to them. Our Employee Assistance Programme is widely promoted and colleagues are actively encouraged to engage with it if they require any support. We also run health and wellbeing courses for our leaders to enable them to support their teams more effectively.
We’ve also been working hard to promote a more open discussion around the topic of mental wellness in particular. In 2021, all leaders – at every level – will attend a training course to help them better understand wellbeing and how to support colleagues with their mental wellness.
