Tackling Modern Slavery
Modern slavery is a global problem affecting every economy, industry and sector. Latest figures from the UN’s International Labour Organisation estimated that more than 40 million people were victims of modern slavery, including almost 25 million workers trapped in forced labour.
Human trafficking, forced labour and the exploitation of vulnerable workers are abuses of basic human rights and have no place in our business or supply chain. Preventing these abuses from happening is a global, complex issue and Aldi is working with its partners and suppliers to deter, detect and deal with it when it occurs.
Our Modern Slavery Statement explains the steps taken by Aldi UK & Ireland and other relevant group companies to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains. Aldi Ireland buying teams are provided training and Aldi’s Irish suppliers have access to modern slavery training.
